League Rules and Regulations

2007 - 2008 Season

1. An account will be opened by the Secretary in a bank of his choice, and the money deposited weekly by the Secretary.

2. A fee of $20.00 per bowler per night shall be paid by each team captain or representative of the team to the Secretary by the end of the first game of bowling. The cost of bowling is $8.25 with balance to the prize fund.

3. The Secretary shall be paid $0.30 per bowler per week. This salary shall not be paid until the end of the season after the final average sheet has been submitted to the association Secretary. If the Secretary chooses to place the money in a savings account, the interest shall be credited to him and he will also get this money at the end of the season.

4. No arrearages shall be allowed in the payment of fees per USBC rule 104. The team captain is responsible for collecting all fees and turning them over to the Secretary by the end of the first game each night.

5. The league shall bowl on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at Fulton Lanes, starting August 20, 2007 and ending March 21,2008, for a total of 30 weeks.

6. The President shall appoint an awards committee. The awards committee shall post an approved prize list within 5 weeks form the start of the bowling schedule. The prize list must be approved by the majority of the team captains.

7. To qualify for individual prizes, a bowler must be on the roster of only one team and bowl three-fourths of the season.(68 games). No team or individual shall collect more than once in each category each round.

8. The team position standings shall be determined on a 50point basis per match. One point awarded for each individual that outscores the opponent opposite in the lineup each game and two points for outscoring the opponent for the three game series. Five points will be awarded to the team with the highest total each game and ten points for the team with the highest three game series in each match. The league will bowl two rounds with prizes given for each round.

9. The Sponsor fee will be $100.00 and is due before bowling begins the fourth night of league bowling. There will be a $5.00 penalty per week, or fraction thereof, for each team that is delinquent in paying the Sponsor fee. If the penalty is not paid, it will be deducted from the teams prize money.

10. A tardy player will be allowed to “catch up” provided the opposing team has not completed the fifth frame of the first game.

11. If a team does not have at least 5 bowlers present, an absentee score of the missing bowler’s average minus 10% will be used. If the team has more than 5 bowlers on the roster then the average of the bowler missing with the most games will be used. If the bowlers have the same number of games then the bowler with the higher average will be used. Teams with less than five Bowlers on the Roster will use a score of 190.

12. A legal lineup must include at least three bowlers from the team’s roster. The league will be USBC sanctioned and Male and Female USBC card holders are eligible. Rosters can be changed prior to 6:30 p.m. on the night of bowling, by notifying the Secretary.

13. On the first night of bowling, the team on the odd numbered lane shall enter it’s lineup first. After the first night, the team higher in the standings for the round shall enter its lineup first. In case of ties, the higher average team shall enter its lineup first.

14. In the event both teams have an absentee, the absentees must be placed opposite one another in the lineup, and the points shall be determined by the team score. If at the start of bowling a players is absent and the other team has an absentee that is not opposite the missing bowler, the lineups must be changed to match up the absentees.

15. An intentional foul on the second ball shall result in a score of zero for the whole frame.

16. League bowler conduct is the responsibility of the team captain. In the event the captain cannot control the conduct of his members, action may be taken by the Board of Directors.

17. The league bowlers will only be required to give one lane courtesy.

18. League members will be expected to conduct themselves in a proper manner. Loud offensive language, abusing the bowling equipment, throwing objects, or other behavior that is disruptive to the league will result in: First offense – a warning. Second offense a $10.00 fine to be paid before the next time bowling in the league. Third offense – a meeting of the Board of Directors will determine the penalty. (Penalties could include a higher fine, a suspension of some number of weeks, or dismissal from the league). Appeals must be made in writing to the Board of Directors before the next weeks league.
