Troubleshooting Broadcasts on Digitaltalk.com
Thanks for listening to our broadcasts! Here
are some Frequently asked troubleshooting questions/answers:
-
We recommend that you use Microsoft Media player.
There may be others on the market, but Windows Media player appears to
be the most reliable. You can download windows media player for free
at www.microsoft.com
- If you are using a dial up connection, you will likely
experience problems listening to the broadcasts consistently. The
speed of your slower connection will cause the broadcast to buffer
siginificantly. If your dial up connection is less than 56k, you will
have problems hearing the broadcasts. We suggest you look
into the many options available now for high speed internet.
Many of the options are as cost effective as dial up and surprisingly
affordable now.
- Media Player problems: One of the standard problems with
media player and downloading new versions of media player is that you
need to be sure your version is set to receive all files.
Many times these boxes are not checked by Microsoft,
especially on newer versions of media player. To correct
this, open your media player, click on tools located at the top
of the media player window, then click options. When the options
window opens, select the file types tab. Once the file types tab
opens, click on select all, and then click on ok. By
selecting all files, you will now be able to enjoy just about any
streaming media on the internet.
- Start of Broadcasts: In many cases, if a JV or Freshman game
runs late, our broadcast will start later. In some instances,
the earlier games end sooner then expected. Best rule is to
check back on a regular basis just prior to and after the start time
if we are not yet on the air.
If you have any further questions, please e-mail me at d1bbscout@yahoo.com
we will attempt to answer your questions as quickly as possible, but
obviously will not be able to answer your question during our broadcasts.
You may have noticed the quality of our broadcasts has improved
significantly over the last few weeks. Digitaltalk has been converting
direct to the internet at some game locations. We are working to improve
the quality of our broadcasts each week. On some road games, we will
still need to broadcast via telephone line and that impedes some audio
quality, but we still can bring the games to you.
Go Wildcats!!
