Jim posted this on his basketball website - www.teammissouri.com:
Bill Olive pioneer of Digitaltalk.com and great friend of the Donnelly family passed on today after a long illness. Bill founded digitaltalk.com back in the mid 90's to give high school athletic programs that were virtually ignored by local radio, an opportunity to be heard through internet play by play. Bill and his staff, with basically no financial support to a little known medium at the time called "the internet", traveled around the Mid-Missouri area and called play by play broadcasts of Blair Oaks High School football and basketball, Lincoln University basketball and baseball, and most recently Linn High School basketball. Unknown to many in the high school sports/broadcast business, Bill was owner of the Kegler Pro Shop at Westgate Lanes in Jefferson City for many years and was an avid bowler and Professional Bowling Association Member for several decades. Digitaltalk also produced and televised the finals of the Carroll-Rehma Bowling Classic from Westgate Lanes with host Kent Hunter and Bill on the color commentary. Named to the Jefferson City, Columbia and State of Missouri Bowling Halls of Fame several years ago, Bill was godfather to my son Jayme and was an intregal part of introducing my daughter Hannah to bowling, a sport that she now excels in today. A great guy that helped me out tremendously over the years and will be missed by so many. "The Guru" Bill Olive.
Bill will be missed by many. So many people have the same type of memories. One thing is for sure......Bill has touched the lives of many and that in itself is the type of legacy we'd all be lucky to leave behind when we are no longer on this earth. We may not get to visually see him everyday anymore but he will never be forgotten.

Chris McKinney sent this photo that was taken when Bill was drilling a ball for Nathan December. Nathan was playing guitar for the Goo Goo Dolls when they stopped in to play the state fair and had a free night to go bowling.
